No, it's going to take a few days at least before there is a smell ;)
And when I say they can be mobile, I mean mobile. Look in every room of the house. Specially under the beds.

Did you find him yet? Lot's of time with eels they will tend to hide for a few days after they eat.

We found my friends eel 2 rooms away under a dresser. He was all dried up but I put him in the water and put his face in front of a powerhead for about 5 minutes to run water and Oxygen over his gills and he came to. That was 4 or 5 years ago and he's still kickin'.

I actually had the nearly the same thing with a blenny. Made it under two closed doors, when someone else living here found it in another room. He was all dried up, but still alive. So they tossed him back into my tank for me. Blenny lived happily for 2 more months or so before again escaping, this time to it's doom. Right through eggcrate as well/

sorry for the long delay guys! I had to leave town. BUT, GREAT NEWS!! I just got in from the Twin Cities and he was swimming around in the tank when I opened the door!!! I have no idea where he was hiding but he's alive & well!! I'm stoked!! The funny thing is, where ever he found to hide, he must love it there because he's already disappeared again, but it's nice to know that he is in the tank... somewhere... haha = )

Thanks for the help guys! much appreciated! It was great to come home and see him again. Best welcome home present I could have asked for! Now I'm just going to have to keep a close eye on him & try to figure out where this amazing hiding spot of his is! Thanks again everyone!!
