I'll get some new pictures up soon. I've been super busy at work lately.

Go get a cup of coffee, Corailline. This may take a bit.

Okay, first up, the new reef sump. Water flows into a 20 where the skimmer sits, flows into another 20 where chaeto will grow, then into a 40 breeder that will have decorative macro algaes and probably shrimps/snails whatever, then into a 100 gallon stock tank with a Mag 9 return and ATO. It's only been running a week so far.

A few pictures from the DT:

I had an issue with using Algaefix. All of the algae in the tank died, except what I thought was a small amount of hair algae. Turned out it was bryopsis, which took off because of a lack of competition. The Algaefix killed the chaeto, though, which didn't help, and some corals receded. Nothing was lost and the bryopsis is receding at 1800 ppm mag. Other than THAT, everything is doing great. ::)

Dendro feeding. It's growing head #11. Started with 3

Acan attacking rock for some reason. It's done this a few times lately.

    Favia recovering nicely.

Some new SPS frags had NEM's. They came right out in a Coral Rx dip, but did not die even at 4x concentration. Found eggs on a Spongodes, at the base of a plug, so I cut the coral off and glued it to a new plug. So far so good.

You can see it eaten away.

The rest of the pictures are from the growout tank. It has two 7 diode Rapid LED PAR 38's above. Color and growth are great.

Red Watermelon nearly recovered from Algaefix. It receded on two sides, but kept growing in the other directions.

Nice Acan I got from Limpit for helping him pick up a 180.

Well I did just that, got a cup of coffee. :)

Nice catch on the MEN, I have a friend that is showing the exact same damage to his spongoid, here we were thinking sweeper tentacle from a euphyllia, it's a new piece so it's probably MEN. I would have not thought of that had I not seen the images, god I am getting old!!!!

    Wow on the sump.

The war and peace is beautiful. Looks like you are accumulating quite the collection of frags. Do you have a name for the green larger acropora frag (grow out images)?

My LPS will attack a rock that has a snail moving across it, my hydnophora just ate my last certh, darn it.

Congrats on the algae war I guess, if the byropsis is dying off, using Kent Tech Mag?

Your grow out system gives me a lot of incentive to try LED.

    Thank you for the update.

I think you mean the Green Slimer? I think that's what it is anyway. I'm growing out some SPS for a friend that I helped get started in reefing. He bought a number of corals from another reefer, but doesn't remember what they all are.

I'm getting some nice deep colors with the LED's. The color is better than the TEK with all ATI bulbs. Any new lights I buy in the future will be LED, no question.

The growout tank is very addicting. I'm already having space issues. Whatever I put in there does well. It's so easy to feed and keep a close eye on everything.

Yep, using Tech M for the bryopsis. I had it once before, and regular magnesium didn't kill it, even at 2,000 ppm. It's a pain, and I'd like it to disappear a little faster, but I don't want to raise the mag any higher. The Duncans don't like that.

    Thanks, I appreciate it! :)
