The tank upgrade is going to take a while, but it'll be nice when it's done. Re: the house, I gutted nearly the whole thing, and remodeled it myself, so thanks for noticing. ;D

Love the Portal pictures! What is the coral on pics 9 and 10, is it by any chance a "Neon Polyp true undata"? I've had my eyes set on one, just don't know if I'm ready for it. Looks pretty awesome!

Not an undata. It not be a branching coral. Flatter, plate like with indented polyps. I'd guess that was a Garf Bonsai by the look, however it is flooded with actinics so hard to tell.

Very good, it is a Garf Bonsai. I finally found one at a frag swap. It was only 10 bucks, but completely browned out, so worth the try. It's just starting to encrust and grow more polyps. Under normal lights, the skin is a light purple now. I wasn't sure where to place it. I figured it had similar requirements as the Red Planet, so I put it near that.

Ive heard to get the deep purple you need to place it lower and make sure your iodide levels are good ;-) The placement next to the RP should be perfect it you are geting that deep green base on the RP.

Yeah, I tried placing it low at first, but it didn't like that. :p I read a lot of conflicting information about the Garf Bonsai, but it seemed to like similar conditions as the RP, so I went that route. Seems to be working so far. It looks very nice under actinics for an SPS.

My son wanted to get me something for my reef tank for Christmas. The LFS owner wouldn't let him get anything living, so he bought me a gift certificate instead.

Rather than get a bucket of salt, I picked up an ORA Red Goniopora. I had wanted this coral for a while. Thanks, Ryan!

Picked it up yesterday, pictures are from today.
