Just want to add, for my own record, that I increased the flow through the sump. I've always had some type of algae growing in the DT, but not much growth of the macro algae. The low flow sump was the biggest variable that I had not addressed, and so far I'm very pleased with the results.

That is an ORA Red Goni. It really glows bright, almost looks fake. I'm not having real good luck with it, though. I can't seem to find a place where it's happy yet. My LFS guy is checking to see if he can get the new Gonipower food for me to try out. Goniopower coral food by Two Little Fishes now shipping

Actually lol I do have one already haha... It just looks different under the LEDs. Mine is more Red under actinics.
So here's the deal with them. They are quite hard though. I found that they do best under overhangs and in moderate to low flow. Also they like lower light but will Occasionally extend towards higher light when they want it. Not sure why but this seems to be how they like it?
I will post a picture of mine tomorrow on here for you. I don't feed it anything special other than my usual fish feeds like cyclopeeze and other small particulates.

So, placement sort of like a chalice? I see some people have them in high light, and ORA has them under 400w MH. Mine doesn't seem to like high light, though. Even under normal lighting, it's extremely bright and pink, not red at all. The centers are purple.

Yes. I think the largest contributor is flow though as the goni will stretch for light when it has to. Mine extends up to three inches at a time some times. Ive seen a friends extend up to 6-7". But it's in low flow.
Remember, they are a lagoonal species so they are used to slow sweeping currents.
