Bare bottom or sandbed

    Okay let's here it, I'm on the fence for my 225. I have a wrasse den so I can still have a wrasse or 2 but....... I like the look of the bare bottom a year from now, encrusted with montis and chalices and coraline all over, but also like the sand look.

    I've always preferred a SB. Even if its very shallow.

    I liked bare bottom for flow. I could blast SPS all day long and not worry about sand getting anywhere. That being said in my newer tank I now have sand, kinda wish I didn't, but the extra bio filter is nice.

    a fan of sand simply for aesthetics if nothing else. Gives that more natural look im a little bit of a geology nerd so i also enjoy the shaping done by the water flow over time.

    On a mixed reef i would do sand bed. I like gobys as well so sand for me. If i did an all SPS tank i would run bb for more flow.
