So ive tried to do a little research and i have come to the conclusion that bare bottom comes with easier maintenance but im not sure i like the look of it. Sand is a pain and i hate it because i can never get the powerheads right and crushed coral is nice but its a nitrate trap and it isnt easy to clean... Im going to have a dwarf lion and maybe a snowflake eel... although im not sure how the eel would like it being bare bottom.... Any advice? i like the idea of bare bottom but im not sure i could make it look good

Why is sand a pain? Why not do a 1/2-1" sandbed? Was the sand you were using before too fine?

Painted the back of my 300 black, and the bottom white. Looks awesome and stays clean.
