Barnacle Thing? - Pest or Guest?

    Thanks for all the replies, they have really helped!
    After watching for about week or longer, I'm now pretty certain it's a barnacle from what has been said and because it hasn't moved at all. I'll still keep an eye on it and see if anything changes. Thanks again :)

    If the fan looks like fingers and twists around at times then it is definitely a barnacle.

    Something looks suspicious to me also from what I know about Barnacles. At least the Barnacles I have there are no holes on top unless they been dead and there more like little trap doors that open and close as the animal comes out fanning for food.

    looks and sounds like a barnacle to me. i would leave it alone.
