    I'm surprised JEN Veron is being so alarmist. That's not really like him. Yes, this is a problem and coral reefs worldwide are under attack from warming, excess nutrients from land fertilizers and other polution. Coral reefs have been around a long time and they do adapt. They will switch to a different clade of zooxanthellae to more temperature resistant clades. They will perform polyp bailout and re-establish elsewhere. Natural selection will also occur which no one likes but that's the way all of the animals and the plants in the world survive.
