    Hey all,

I am getting ready to plan a 180g tank build with in the next six months. I have already started acquiring frags for this build. My question is outside of ellgance and duncans what other barrier corals are available. I have seen a few here and there mostly ranging from 150 to 500 bucks. Just wondering what I should look for when shopping? Have elegance and duncans already.

Their are a wide variety of Acans and other corals that can be purchased. It is best to get them as a 1"frag to cut the costs often associated with these corals.
    Good lcuk!

I'd get the tank set up first then let it settle in for a yr or so then worry about the corals . unless you have an already established system to hold them all ? and are you messing with just softs and LPS corals and or you going to try the more demanding and difficult SPS corals ? Thats a whole nuther game and requires totally different material and equipment and methods required .

The corals are going to live in the established system (125g) which will turn into the sump/refuge. I got a 180g aga tank and stand for $200. Got to love craigslist! Anyways I am looking at anything native to the barrier reef excluding sps for now. Currently I have aussie elegance and duncan. Just wondering what else is out there. This also includes fish and inverts too.

While not technically accurate (I don't think), anything that is Indo-Pacific, I call Barrier.

I'm guessing "barrier" = Great Barrier Reef off Australia.

Blastomussa is my fav. I have a few of those and I think they look better than the Acans personally.

I believe 6Line Wrasse, Dwarf Angels are Barrier.
