Very nice. BTW, if you want to get rid of the gurgling from the drain going to the sump, let me know. Might not be a big deal because it's remote, but if it is I've got a couple solutions.

I actually had to turn the flow down because the overflow upstairs couldn't keep up which stopped the gurgling downstairs. Also changed the drain position in sump so it isn't underwater. Thank you though.

What are your opinions on covering all sides (including top) in insulation board to reduce heating costs? Dt is open top, and I would run the air tube for the skimmer through the foam.

I like access to my sumps. I would try without and see how the heaters keep up in winter.

The panels would be removable and the top portion would just be set on top level with the sides. Wouldn't be any issue of accessibility. Im sure heater(s) would be able to keep up, just a matter of cost; which I prefer to reduce. Do you see any likely negative effects doing this with the DT top open, and injecting air into the sump through the skimmer?

The MarineLand 5500 is 1385 at 0, and only 54watts, internal or external.
I'm using one now, internal, and with my 10ft head height with one 180 degree bend I'm getting 460gph.- I measired it fairly accurately, depending on the actual vertical head height and total friction loss, this may be another option.- It also uses less watts b/c of the head height. Works well on my 125 reef. It's about $140
    Just saying.

It's a little less air/water mix, but given the other stuff you've got going on you would probably be ok. Still, I'd get a Kill-a-watt plug and measure watt usage first then make a determination whether it's worth the effort.

I like to see what's going on in my system at a glance and the insulation would close the sump visually.

I already use a kill-a-watt hah! If the insulation saves me two dollars a month it would be worth it to me. Plus I'd like to reduce the evap in the basement if I can. I wish I knew how much energy that tank was using upstairs.

It should be pretty easy to figure out. What lights, circ pumps, etc. are you using?

Is it OK to be running that through your cold air return? Affecting the water as well as possibility of leaks in your duct system.
