basic video editing..

anyone know of a free application for a mac or pc that will edit a simple avi taken on a canon handheld camera? need to add in some still images and crop out some footage.

trying to make a video for the DIY contest...

so far the other applications ive downloaded allow you to TRY their software. i can edit the videos and then it wont let me save them. wants me to pay...

do you have mac. imovie come with it and i think you can edit?

 

imovie did come with it, and it accidentally got deleted at one point. i dont know how to reinstall it. i dont have the software disc. i have the mac reinstall media but it wants to reinstall the whole OS etc.

 

Ah... unfortunately, my friend... I'm a PC.
I know you can go into the recovery files/partition and single out imovie. My wife did that for a different program. But i believe the problem was for the mac to give her access to these files.

I wish I could help. I'll research online. Maybe we can come up with something.

i got imovie back.... time to do some editing and get this darn video submitted.
