I currently have a royal gramma which of course is a basslet. With the passing of my fire fish goby's I contemplated getting a chalk basslet. My research has been that different basslets can be kept in the same tank, that they may fight some to establish territory and then be OK. I talked to my lfs and they said in essence the same thing, although a bit concerned with my tank size. Does anyone here have an opinion? I love the chalk basslet and would love to have one in my tank, but don't want my already established gramma to take him out or vice versus. Thoughts?

Its always a risk putting similar species fish together. As a whole R. Gramma's are not very aggressive. I've never seen a chalk basslet but if it has similar coloration they may fight.

Provide a lot of hiding space. Good Luck.
