Bump..Hey Baugherb.. I was wondering if you could give me some pointers on your red goniopora. How long have you had it? I got a pink one about a month ago. So far seems to be doing well. I hear they like less than pristine water.

Here's a weird story and I would let a scientist take it if they wanted...
I bought that same gonipora over 5 years ago. They told me that they only live a max of a year in excellent water. Mine got that redish slime like it was dying covering it and when you peeled that slime away it has pink dots. I kept having to do this to try to keep it alive. I had it right up by the lights to try to help it but I am under the assumption that's why it "died". So I put the rock on the bottom holding up another rock to steady it. Like 2 years later little tenticles start appearing. But this time I have 2 "heads" (I could split the rock in half w/o killing it). I went over to it last night because someone bumpped it and it went all the way in. I thought it may have been dying again... but it has 3 heads now and the holes where the polyp extend out of are deeper then when I got it in the first place. So I take it, it must be doing really well. My point was adding to this thread that it really is hardy and it did waaaay better when I put it at the bottom in the sand under one return but furthest from the other return. From reading what people do to care for them... I take it the like poo? The eat what your fish cannot break down? They only fully extend when they are hungry and they don't like alot of light like the guy at the LFS claimed.

and Baugherb.... SWEET tank! Love the scaping and all the corals you picked and placement!
I laughed when I read "300 +" and now you are going 75 gallon... lol K+
