Great set up you have there, looks fantastic. long term though i would ditch the sea clone skimmer for somethng along the lines of an octo NWB 110 or something and probably loose the canister. You will see when you add more livestock you will have to constanly clean the canister and im sure you will find the sea clone less than adequate at removing skim. Again, this is really only if you want some more stock in there. That is all in all a beautiful setup and hope to see some updates, happy reefing.

My tank has been up and running for around 12-13 weeks.

I have my power heads on differnt timers. The 300 GPH is on all the time as well as the flow from the filter and the skimmer. The 850 is on during the day light cycle and the 600 is on during the night cycle.

I think the pic of my current look shows how happy every one is for sure.

At the moment I'm saving up to get a 20 gal sump and a better skimmer.

I do 20% water changes every 2 weeks and I take the time to clean the canister filter. At the moment my skimmer is producing some really dark brown/green stuff. Its a pretty nice skimmer actually. It has a venturi style pump instead of a bubble rock. I clean the cup every 2-3 days. I also feed every 2-3 days.

I have also been told to just lose the canister filter because I have 50 lbs of live rock in a 29 gallon....lol I might try it for a couple of days.

I dont know if you guys noticed but I dont have the stock pipe that came with the canister filter. I have a surface skimmer that works almost just like an over flow. No real debris go into the filter other then the junk on the top of the water. I turn all the flow off when I feed my fish and corals and of corse I only feed them the amount they eat in 2-3 min. If any thing is left over my shrimp and snails gobble up. Then I turn every thing back on. The only real debris I find in the canister is when I take a power head and "dust off" my rocks.

    EDIT:

    I'm currently running carbon also.
