    Most LR you buy comes from Fiji or nearby places. That being said, if you didnt make your LR then you took something out of the ecosystem. Most of the sand I find in my LFS comes from a beach somewhere.

    No. Do a google search. You can buy sand very cheap, shipped. I got mine for $1 a pound, shipped.

    That is incorrect. They way they do rock is regulated. You get a permit for an area, you dump a ton of base rock there, let it sit for a bit (sometimes up to a few years or so) then collect it. Live rock isn't just someone going out and jack hammering on the reef or taking stuff from the beach.

    I would really put some thought in what you have done and plan on doing again. As stated, it could land you with heavy fines and/or in prison. And even worse, its adding to the destruction of the natural ecosystem, which is not cool, and not at all what this hobby should be about. Not to sound too rude, but maybe it's a good time to reflect on why you keep tanks, and to consider your means and intents in doing so as a whole.
