    Thanks guys!

Tank is 20x18x20 and I have the MP10 about 6" below the water.

I'm kind of still on the fence. I want to see how the tank looks after three months so give me another month or so and I'll have a better answer. If I go AI on the 180 I'm also going to be running a two bulb T5 retrofit on either side (4 bulbs - 320 watts of T5) of the AIs to improve the spectrum and add a little punch. My LFS is pushing me towards Radions (he sells all brands but wants me to use these[guinea pig]) so that is an option as well. Just not sure if I want to drop %2250 on lights.

I will say that I really like the lack of heat with LED. My tank went from bouncing between 77 in the morning to 80 in the afternoon to a steady 77 all day every day.

Here's the 180 before I tore it down - can't wait to get it set back up!!!! My sumps being built now and after I get it in I'll go ahead and set it up without lighting and let it cycle.

That is one of the best looking Cubes I've ever seen. Congrats on the excellent work and for making me a little jealous.

Was the browning out and growth ceased because of light shock? Or was it because the spectrum was wrong, ie to blue?

    Thanks reefmonkey!

I wish I could tell you. I think if someone could figure that out they'd make a lot of money ;D

I started off the AIs at 25/25/25 and have moved up by 5 points on every channel every Monday so I don't think it was light shock. I shocked two of the corals and all they did was bleach out on previously shaded areas and within a week they were the same color as the rest of the coral.

I will be following this thread closely. I have been experimenting with the AI's as well on my 30g nano frag reef and got similar results in regards to some SPS frags changing color for the worst, and lost a few pieces too. In the past month, the SPS's stopped bleaching and I raised the intensity to 70/60/60. Some of my corals have responded well. Still have a long way to go before I can fully recommend this fixture but I will be doing a review in the near future on these as well as the Radions. I will be covering both the good and bad from both fixtures. Keep us posted.

From researching the AIs before purchase it looks like bleaching and browning out are a common problem. Haven't heard much of these issues from the Radion crowd (yet). Hopefully we'll hear some really good positive and negative feedback from the Radions soon.

First off, Congratz on your cube, looks really great.

As far as the LED's go, I don't think this is subject to just AI sols or the radions. I have seen plenty of folks do great 3watt Cree DIY's and get the same results initially. The thing I have noticed most is that as soon as you move a coral from what it has adjusted to, you are going to get different colors. Whether it MH or T5's to LED's or vice versa. Some of my friends have endured bleaching and browning out, at different times on very different corals. But they alwyas seem to bounce back and morph into something amazing. Like anything in our hobby, any swing or adjustments or change can have enormous effects.

    Thanks Matt!

Proreefer - the stand is 42" tall so it's bar stools only. Which is ok - makes cold beverages that much more refreshing ;D

I'm done building out the 180 (waiting [not so patiently] on the cycle to complete) so this tank only has another month or so to go. I'm a little sorry to see it go as it's been a great tank. Hope I can replicate it in a larger scale on the new tank.
