    Greetings one and all.
I have been borrowing your knowledge for a few months now....so I guess I should join the fun.
I am a beginner, GREEEEEEN as can be. I decided to do an aquarium because my grandaughter liked the cartoon NEMO.....well, 1000.00 bucks later. LOL
So I have a little nano 30 gallon...30 lbs Live rock, 30 lbs live sand, 1 Ocillaris Clown, 1 lubbocks wrasse and a 1 Purple Flame...as well as a couple of pepperment shrimp, 2 "doctor" shrimp, 3 small hermits, 2 Emarald crabs, 1 Orange linkia star fish, 1 Sand sifting star fish, 2 turban snails, 4 medium snails, 20 tiny common cleaning snails, and a Green Bubble Tip....1 Neon Green Open Brain, 2 Deep ocean neon green candy cane frags, 2 green star polop frags, 1 blue mushroom, 1 green with orange center zoa frag, 1 nuclear green zoa frag, and a nice cluster of Chaeto....150 watt coralife Metal halide, T8 Compact Floresant deep blue daylite and 2x4 LED Lunar...all on a nice aquatic timer...oh, and a powerhead and a biowheel filter...I also have a protien skimmer but I cant seem to get the micro bubbles out of it..so its hanging outside until I can gather my patience and try again.:-X
Well, I guess that should just about do it...2 months in and really enjoying the time I spend with it...and running around meeting new folks is cool also.
Thanx for all the help so far, and I hope to be giving some back in the future.
    cio 4 now.

Here is my issue as it stands with skimmer....
Odyssea powerhead EX-250. That is what it states on the motor.
It is a cylindrical compartment of approx 18 inches x approx 3.5 that hangs outside the tank...with a recovery chamber on top (approx 1 cup size) It has the intake (clear 1 inch tube bending into tank) and output (black pipe that 90 degrees) that hangs inside the tank also. Intake has coarse media and output has fine media. when running, it emits micro bubbles.
I tried to fill it with different types of filter media as suggested...but it became a foam factory....I finnally gave up when I realized that my prolonged contact with the tank water was causing me distress(swollen nose, rash on face etc...thats another time I came to 3reef for help.....( kept me from going to the emergency room for sure ! ) but also educated me to dangers not explained to me before.
So...I have it hanging on an ice chest outside in the yard...running fine with fresh water but still has MB's Any suggestions... Obee-wan your my only hope....: )
    Thanx.
