Hey! Had my 28 gallon bowfront for about three months now; always wanted a salt water tank (love to dive!), my mom used to have one back in the dark ages but then the bug man sprayed around her tank while she was gone (killing her jawfish and clown of five years) and she just took it apart I guess. I'll have to post some of her stories of previous mistakes; made alot due to the lack of resources back then (some of them are amusing looking back on it). I was able to start mine as a christmas gift (although i've already put about 400-500 of my own money into it for proper lighting, live rock/sand, and such).

So far I have a false perc mated pair that are doing quite well, and a long tentacled anemone. Unfortunately he was my first mistake; tank not old enough obviously :( . I think hes doing ok so far (had him about 2 weeks), so I guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed (been researching them like crazy...after the fact). I do hope he makes it, he has no where else to go. Thinking about getting a koralia 1 to give him a better current, and hopefully a better chance.

I definitely want to add a pearly jawfish sometime in the future, they are such fun (and one of my favorites on reef dives)! Been researching those and I think i can handle one. Might need to add to my sand bed though, so we'll see :)

Also thinking of getting a skunk shrimp, but trying to take into account bioload and all that, so I'm going slow (especially after the anemone I am now hovering over).

In the future, I would like to upgrade to a 46 gallon (since thats what my stand can hold), but trying to decide if i want to add my 28 gallon inhabitants or if i want a separate tank altogether. I guess I'll just see how this one grows and go from there.

Hope I didn't bore you all with my super long post!

Welcome to 3Reef! It sounds like that despite a few initial bumps (and I dare say we've all made a few in our time) that you're on the right path. Research and ask all the questions you can...this site is an amazing place to find answers!
    Best of luck!

Yes yes, this is probably one of the best sites I have been registered to. Welcome, great hobby but can be frustrating at times. Kinda like Poker, gotta love to hate it!.....lol
