    Can I build a fegu with only a bsb and maybe some LR or do I need more? And can I use play sand and a cup of ls to jump start it in the fegu ?

    some macro algae such as Chaetomorph or Caulerpa would be a usefull addition in the fuge Chad134

    Yes you could get dry sand ( not sure which play sands are OK to be honest) and add some sand from an established tank to seed it
