As I stated I'm somewhat new to this hobby.I live in Las Vegas. I have a 100 gallon tank 28"Lx28"Wx30"H O.D., and the stand it sits on is 28"H. with a 20 gallon refugium setup. I want to have a soft coral tank: Hairy mushroom, bull's-eye mushroom, acropora, candy cane, an anemone, frogspawn and zooanthid, with a tridacna maxima clam and a few fish: sand sifting starfish, 3 peppermint shrimp, 2 ocellaris clown fish, 4 scarlet cleaner shrimp, 6 hawaii feather dusters, 3 kauderns cardinals, carpenter wrasse, sealfin algae blemmy, and some snails and crabs, with live rock and live sand. So my question is will this light fixture Finnex 24" LED/T5 Combo Aluminum Light Fixture 4 x T5 + 9 x LED - AquaCave.com with 2 Coralife T5 High Output 10,000K and 2 Coralife T5 High Output True Actinic, (alternating of course) be enough light for my tank setup, and how many hours should I run them off an automatic controller? If not any suggestions. trying to keep the price down otherwise I'd like to run all LED's. Do you think I'll need a chiller. any help is greatly appreciated.Thank you for your time

I don't know if 4 T5 bulbs over a 30" tall tank would be enough for acros and clams?
Maybe 2in10 or somebody else will chime in. Also I believe ATI and G-man bulbs might be better than Coralife, no offence.

Most people recommend ATI bulbs for t5s but like the last poster said penetrating that deep in the tank can be tricky. Generally the deeper the tank the harder it is to get the high PAR at the bottom.

The main reason I'm replying though is your name rocks. Lol

i know that watts per gallon has come into question and some say its not a good way to figure out what light system to buy and this is true if your gonna buy enough live rock to raise the coral to the height it requires to get enough light to survive if your gonna do that then it may be ok. 30'' deep your getting 1 watt per gallon imo t5 isn't gonna make the cut for sps, clams if i was going with that deep of square tank i would consider LEDS they penatrate imo better with less wattage

Right on that's cool!keep us updated with the lights, the more reviews the better idea other reefers can get if this is something worth investing in. I know I'm curious about long term use on these 1-2 yrs down the road.
