I'm thinking of getting a male female pair of bellus angels. everything I've read on them says they are reef safe and you can keep them in pairs or one male and several females. just would like to get some input from anyone that has tried this particular fish. Sounds to good to be true, a totally reef safe Angel?

I have never heard about this angel but also have never heard of a reef safe angel. Get the LFS to put em in a reef tank in the store and leave em overnight and then go check em out.

Did a quick google search and found a few sites that say they are reef safe and the best angel to get if you have a reef...and they are gorgeous!

I got the same info on em. Said to be reef safe. very attractive fish.

Members of the genus Genicanthus are planktivores and seldom other corals or clams in the aquarium, making them the perfect reef angel. Genicanthus are safer in reef tanks than Centropyge spp. "pygmy" angels. In this species, the sexes look very different, and the female Bellus Angel is as attractive as the Male Bellus Angel! This is a deeper water species that requires careful collection and handling, beware of cheap specimens. The Bellus angel is one of the most attractive reef safe angels obtainable.

Same stuff I have been reading, was hoping to find someone with personal experience with them. From what it looks like it could be a while before I can find them anyhow. I am hoping coloradoreef can hook me up when he is ready to open his store.
