    I would agree with this since the pH is slightly lower than target level. Lower dissolved O2 leads to lowered pH levels. If he starts swimming at the top of the tank, then you have your answer. You can also watch the tank at night with a red light to see if there may be an inhabitant that is normally not seen that, is stressing him out.

    Just being a tang IMO. They can be psychotic fish, doing weird stuff like that all the time. Try owning a hippo. I used to freak out all the time over mine. Wait till you see one that occasionally likes to sleep on its side or even upside-down.
