Berlin Turbo HO Skimmer

i bought one of these a while back and it has been great. now all the sudden it has stopped producing foam. i took the whole unit and cleaned it really good washed out the air tube and still with the pump turned all the way up and the air open full the foam still wont reach the cup what can i do?

 

I know with most skimmers you have to have the water flow and air settings just right. All the way open probably isnt the answer. I know it has to run slow and air flow in the middle. Set it to the manuals instructions and let it go. You wont get foam everyday. Maybe you water is clean.

 

it hasnt produced any foam in a week i have palyed with the settings and still no foam

 

you say you cleaned the air tube, did you clean the venturi too?

 

i took the whole thing down and cleaned it all .if it could be removed it was and i soaked it under water to get rid of any salt spray. im just lost for ideas.

 

My Berlin used to drive me crazy. Is everything seated properly? like the inside chamber. Are the return tubes back in right? The dial on the pump put back right? No kinks in the airline? Can you blow air in the line with your mouth to check and see if its getting to the chamber? Sounds like its running real rich I would check all paths of air intake. Is it overflowing water into the skimmer cup or worse out the two nipples above the returns?

 

thats one thing i notice when i first got it if i opened it up to full water and air it would over fill the cup but now it wont do that. yes i did go back through it all making sure i got all the tubes back in right and had the pump put back together correctly.even replaced the air line to make sure there were no kinks or weak spots that were restricting the flow of air.

 

Try taking the impeller out of the pump and make sure that the magnet is still glued to the plastic sleeve. This happened to me and I used quick dry epoxy to glue it back on. John

 

yeah i took a tooth brush to the magnet to get all the slime off of it. it's just driving me nuts trying to figure this out

 

Was the magnet still stuck to the plastic sleeve that the shaft slides threw?
