I had the ATO and the aqualifter. I had it tied into a plastic 5gal bucket. I noticed as the bucket got to the bottom 1/3 of water the ATO would have trouble keeping up with my evap.
I added the bracket ($6) to mount the aqualifter to the side of the sump and the 10 gallon tank (petco 1$ per gal sale) and bam, this is what I have. I've had this setup for a week and it's been awesome.

I also have a 10g ATO ran by a aqualifter. its been set up for a few years and hasn't failed me yet. The best thing is if it gets low and starts drawing air its no biggie with the aqualifter.
    Nice setup you got.

Now get your RO/DI line on a float switch to the 10g and quit carrying buckets! With just the pressure from the RO/DI, I'd be willing to bet if you ran the 1/4 tubing to the 10g tank, and used a decent float valve like I have in the 10g (it WON'T fail- trust me). No more buckets for it. This would work- to slowly fill the 10g, very little pressure is needed.

Bingo! I like the aqualifter just for that reason right there.

Cool Idea I have an aqualifter around here somewhere...must find it and do this....question is how is the aqualifter rigged so it doesn't overfill?

For mine it's on a single solenoid switch from autotopoff.com and I just make sure the output line is higher than the intake.

I have it hooked up to a JBJ ATO, you can see the corner of it in the picture on the right hand side. The return line is blocking the float valves that sit in my return section.
