    Hi people

As you can see a couple posts down from here... I had some troubles with 70 watt ushio bulbs buzzing in my ballast. A guy smarter than me (sorry forgot your name haha) suggested that it might be due to it leaking electricity but I can run an astralux bulb in it fine so Im thinking it might have something to due with the bulb. As a last resort I am going to try and purchase another bulb and see if another brand will also ring before I just replace the ballast altogether.

I have a 5.5 g tank that just finished cycling. After having to take my last tank down due to time constraints with college, I am looking to get into it full force and want to be able to keep anything I choose in this tank (that will fit of course ;D). So I compiled a short list of 70 watt bulbs that I am considering buying and would like your opinion on which is the best.

    13000k Aqualine AB
    14000k JBJ
    14000k Current USA
    20000k XM
    20000k Aqualine AB

If anyone knows of any other bulbs that are good and not 10000k or Ushio let me know. As a reference I really liked the color of the Ushio 20k bulb but hear some 20k bulbs will have too little par to keep everything I want to.

    Thanks

    Bill

Argh I really liked my Ushio but I went through two different bulbs from them and they both buzzed. At this point I really want to try something different to see if its my ballast or the bulbs. I have heard XM's are very low intensity compared to other bulbs so I am leery to try one out. This is turning into a major headache.

Concerning my previous bulbs, they were brand new. In fact I received one of the bulbs yesterday and already returned it today because I could not stand the buzzing. I think I am going to have to buy a new ballast before this is all over. So much for getting back into the hobby "cheaply" hahaha.
