I'm looking to eventually replace the airstone that came in the Oceanic BC Protien Skimmer, that came with my BC29 HQI. Any suggestions?

I've read that the one I have is garbage, but it was free so I'm going to use it. It seems like I can't get the air input adjustment just right because I follow the directions to where the bubbles just make it to the top of the reaction chamber, yet I have to empty the collection cup daily. Minor frustration...

difficult as I do not know the exact size of the wooden air stones as used in the Oceanic skimmer

so my recomendations may not fit, but

Red Sea and Aquamedic - are 2 brands of wooden air diffuser I have used
and they both have performed well in Berlin and Midi flotor skimmers for me

I have no clue what the size is either...I'll have to take it out and measure it because I couldn't find anything in my searches. I do know that the manual says to replace it with Coralife AF1221 but I can't find dimensions of that airstone online. Thank you

    EDIT: Found the size. 2 x 3/4"

    In that case
    the red sea one fits
and the smaller of the 2 versions of the Aquamedic version will also fit

yeah thats crazy, ive never used them i just remember a bunch of people in a forum talking about how much more their skimmer was skimming in there biocubes by just changing out the little airstone..besides getting a new airstone, couldnt you get a bigger air pump for your biocube skimmer to produce more bubbles..i cant remember doesnt the pump just run airline through the bottom to the stone..

Yes....and it produces plenty of bubbles. Guess I'll just stick with this one for now until it needs replacing...then I'll bump this post, lol. Thank you
