Best all-around cleaner Astrea FTW

    i like astreas. I don't like keeping them though because they kept dying/getting eaten because they couldn't self right.

    IMO, if you have crabs, being able to self right is a requirement. So I wouldn't award astrea's that title in my book.

    For best all-around cleaner, I'd go with dwarf ceriths (you knew where this was going didn't you ;);):)) or hermit crabs.


    I have noticed, incidentally, while my crabs would eat an immobilized astrea alive, they would never keep the shell for more than a few hours (just like nerites). So they were just being mean, not even greedy. :eek:

    I knew one of you would leave a comment here. I was waiting lol.

    I have very few crabs, maybe 5 or 6. The snails dont just fall unless something hits it. They hold on pretty tight.

    Dwarf ceriths on the other hand dont have the apetite and dont do squat.

    Dwarf snails are the worst snails ever. lol
