    Sorry for the long wait there. It is not near a window because I live in Alaska and furring the summer we have sunlight 24/7. I just ran out of test materials the other day so I don't know what my nitrates and everythig are but I just did a water change a few days ago so they should be fine.

    I would certainly check them, because if they are present, a lights out won't do much long term. It will grow right back. Did you use tap water when you did a water change?
