bubble tips usually are a good choice. it takes a while for the clown fish to host a anemone. i assume it has to change its slime coat to the anemone. it took mine a month or two.

What kind of lights do you have? How old is the tank?

My wife has a long tentacle - her 2 maroons would not come close to it.

I ended up putting my false perc in her tank with the 2 maroons.. Still no hosting action. So finally I picked up my last clown from the LFS and that lil sucker went straight to hosting.. Now the other 3 are visitors to the nnneennnoommmeee.. ;)

    Good Luck!

i would watch the perc in the tank maroons are quite territorial, there the little warriors of the clown world.

Some clowns will host straight away and some take time. (mine did ti straight away :))

A really good trick, that does work is to stick a pic of a clown hosting against the tank!
He should see it and copy its actions :):)

carpet anemonies are a natural host for percs although not a great choice for everyone. i have seen clowns host in all kinds of things ranging from anemonies to clams and featherdusters to the heater for a tank.id give them time they will probly accept the bubble you have and there about the easyest anemonie to keep and as a bonous it may split for you.
