I've had the JBJ for almost two years and it's been working great. I would definitely recommend it!

I've had mine for 3+ years and it works great. No experience or knowledge of the Avast so can't comment there.

have also had the jbj for a little over a year now. works great. but from all i have read the new tunze is the way to go. tunze is a bit more fail safe from all i have read.

Tunze has always served me well over the last 8 years. The only thing to fail is the pump but it's less than $20 to replace. The best thing about the tunze, if it fails, it will fail to come on. It will never get stuck on. To many failsafes for that! Everyone that I reommend one too will never change to another. It truly is the last ATO you will buy.

on the new tunze they made the pump easier to replace. no more wiring. and they also put a pump adjustment in that you can slow the pump which is great for those dosing kalk threw the ato.
keep in mind that the 2 you are thinking about u will have to add a pump to. so add that to the cost. the tunze comes with its pump. i know its more money but if i had it to do over i would buy the tunze.

an ato failing in the on position is almost as bad as a heater failing. so if your not backing your ato with a controller of some kind. you want a unit thats as failsafe as you can get.

if you do go with tunze be sure the company you buy from is shipping you the new tunze not last years model. i have heard of some being disappointed when they were shipped last years model, which doesn't have the upgrades

I have not used any of these, so i am not much help there. I saw some videos about the new Tunze Osmolator. Looks very nice. But personally I would not spend that much on an ato unless I had a bigger tank.

Everyone I know of that has the JBJ, likes it. I;ve not heard much feedback about the Avast Marine ATO. Ask 'Thepanfish' about it. He suggested it to me for my tank.

I think I will end up just going with a double switch sump ato from AutoTopoff.com. $50 + 12 for a Tom Aquatics AquaLifter pump.

Though, you won't get any sensors telling you if something is wrong.

I agree. I love my Tunze Osmolator. The only way I will get rid of it is if I buy an I/O box for my apex.
