I thought the T5's handled up to 22", granted you cant run the SPS that low but dont know too many who run SPS that low in there tanks.

if you want t5 high output i can help you. i just set up my 55 gallon reef i got a very nice t5 fixture. it is 48" it comes with 2x 54 w 12,000 k daylight and 2x 54w actinic blue. total 216 watts. it has cooling fans built in and blue moonlight l.e.d's for nightime. it has stands that sit it just above your water and it does not heat your water up.i am very happy with it i hope my future corals will be to! i just want to help you out and save you money my lfs had a light like this and they wanted 250.00:angry: take a look and let me know what you think 48" 4ft T5 HO Marine Reef Aquarium Light 216W 4 Bulbs - eBay (item 300357489669 end time Oct-20-09 17:31:04 PDT)

i am looking at the current sundial T5. i have seen "re-man" units on ebay for like 200-250. seems like a good deal to me. i like the dual timers and one power cord

I do, but I am on MH ;)

I would look into sundials or nova extremes. Those are probably the better units on the cheaper end of things.

hmm lots of mixed results i have mh on my bio cube now and i know i have enough light i dont want to buy somthing that may "possibly" be not enough lighting ya know should i maybe go with MH instead of T5 i guess it is a toss up but what gets me is that the T5's only equal to maybe up to 250W when you can buy one Mh bulb that is 400 watts also has a wider selection of color temps this is gonns be the toughest part of this tank i believe
