Best bang for buck in 48" T5

    This lighting looks cool just no need for the looks i can get 2 mh retro setups from my lfs used with supposally 20k bulbs for 300.00 should i just go that route maybe i was just looking into T5 to save on electric lol im buying a house and things wont be cheap for a while

    That is a good price. I had the old Coralife Pro, exact setup on my 110g only it has 2 X PC's. When I bought it 4 or 5 years ago, it cost me $900 or so. :-/

    Some people do fantastically with t5 lighting. Check out the rimless reef, he is a perfect example of success on a similarly sized tank.

    I love my T5's
    They have low heat and my coral is growing very well.
    On the Current Sundial T5's you have 216 watts with 4 bulbs
    If I were damned on using MH's I would go with this: Outer Orbit HQI/T5HO | Current What's Next

    But i do feel the best bang for the buck is the T5 I showed you.

    Just remember MH's give off a ton of heat. I had 4 of them on a 240 and ended up having to buy a cooler to keep the temp under 80deg F

    My Coraline is growing faster than they did with MH and my coral growth on my Zoe and Finger Leather and my Stars is almost double in less than 4 months.
