best beginner coral?

    Heres the deal... my light is just an ordinary 82w dual bulb t5 or t8, Im not dosing calcium and I dont have any calcium,magnisium,ALK,trace,ect... would I be able to keep zoa's, of a soft coral? if so what?

    a 72 bow, its been running for 3 months now, and theres great coriline algae growth. all cycled and ready to go.

    82watts would be enough for those? what kind of flow.

    i would try a small zoa frag.... see how that reacts to the lighting. Not much light over your 72 so put the zoas at least midlevel.

    i too have just had my tank hit 3 months and gave in to the need for corals. i have 2 ricordea mushroom polyps and som frog spawn. not really sure if the frog spwan is begginer friendly but its boing well for me so far and ive had it for a week. hope you get some nice easy corals. but idk if you have enough lighting :( im sure we could find some type of coral with that light though. im just not near as reef knowledgable as some people. id wait till oceanparadise gets on and says something.

    Mushrooms are very hardy and will grow in fairly low lighting.

    Leather coral and/or mushrooms. I kept them both with great success even when I didn't have a clue.

    yeah that makes sense now. my riccordea mushrooms have been under rocks away from my MH lights. i was beggining to get affraid :( thanks lol
