Best brand salt mix to use?

    what types of problems were you having w/ the coralife brand? That's what I use and I just started my tank about a wk ago. Wondering if I should switch now or wait later...

    the jury is still out on that. having problems with high calc., but i think i got it figured out. nothing major if it is working for you enjoy.

    Well I'm still cycling at the moment, so I won't really know of any problems w/ the coralife salt until I introduce some fish to it. I'll let you guys know.

    this new brand i bought is a powder. suppose to disolve better, but who know with advertising and gimicks. havent used it yet, but mixes 200 gallons.

    IS IT OK TO SWITCH FROM INSTANT OCEAN TO REEF CRYSTAL SINCE ITS THE SAME COMPANY

    I would think it would be ok, because they are the same basic mixes. The only difference is the reef crystals have more trace elements and extra vitamins.

    Go slow and make the change over time in small amounts. Prevents an ionic imbalance that can crash your tank.
