Hello! The subject says it all!

I currently use (T5) x2 15000K and and x2 420nm. My anemone is fine and i feed him once a week or theres about. But he's small and my clown doesn't have much luck hosting him. He has only grown a little bit in the 6 months i've had him - so im wondering if i change one of my bulbs to a better growth colour, will he take off?

Hey phoenix - colour temp mix sounds right to me, what wattage lamps are they?
and how far away from the lamps is the nem located? as it may be amount of light rather than type of light thats worth considering.

what do you feed? - I have read that fresh prawns for example rather than frozen prawns are better for the digestion of the nem and thus it utilises more of what it eats

Wow they were quick replies! My tank is two foot long so i use the 24watt T5's which is the perfect size for my tank. The Nem is located about 2/3 the way up.

I normally feed him brine/mysis, becuase he's so small, but i will try the prawn thing, i'll cut small peices off of one and feed him. Its always such a task feeding the anemone, all the shrimp go mental and you have to guard him.

Hi Phoenix - same with LPS - I dont have nems, but I do have LPS bubble and Torch and when I feed these , they get robbed sharpish if you dont take action to prevent it

do you have those long handled plastic tongs for lifting and moving corals etc?

if you do they make useful swipping devices to ward of any potential food pinchers

thats what I do until I cant see the portions of food anymore.

I feed my 2 BTA's krill and silversides. When i had them in my 35g with 3x39w of t5ho, they did fine. Then i bought a house, and put up the 90g. I used the same 3x39 retro to light the 90g until I put halides and converted to 2x54 of t5ho. The anemones were not happy at first, maybe due to a newer tank, the move, less light, many reasons. But I fed my nem's krill, like 2 a day, and they both have now gotten much bigger, and quicker on the up take of the food. About 3 months ago I don't think I could feed them a whole silverside, now I can.

Also, I have had a large maroon clown try to host in them pretty much since I got the 90 running. Until just a week or so ago, the clown only aggravated the anemones, now they seem quite happy witha 5-6" clown in them.
