I was recommended Zoanthids, Ricordia, Brains, Mushrooms, Candy Canes, and Xenias as hardy starters.

For a 30 Gallon that is not a lot. You may want to be careful in your coral selection and placement.

By the way how long has your tank been up? If you have a BTA with only 48W, I would go back to the pet store with the BTA. BTA are harder to care for than almost all soft and LPS corals. I would switch lights asap. Light and skimmers are my top two important equpiments.

Like everyone said softies are almost always good starters.

I would like to warn you about several specific ones though. GSP and Xenia will take over your tank. I started with some GSP because I was told they are hardy. They have done very well. A little too well. I'm not fighting them off from killing SPS. If you do decide to get some of these plan for the future and keep them isolated.

Just like a fish stocking plan a coral stocking plan will benefit greatly from a lot of foresight into what you want where it will be and how you will keep it from fighting.
