Recently I saw a thread asking whats the most youve spent. well personally I find spending a lot in this hobby is a easy thing to do. But how about getting a huge deal, What are the best deals some of you have gotten.

I'll start my best deal was a week ago when I bought a spectrapure unit. I paid for the 90 gph. 250 bucks(note I live in Canada) and I ended up getting the 180 gph model. A big deal I think. WHat are some of yours? equipment? fish? corals? tank?

if the LFS guy had seen it expand he would have dropped it in the 100$ tank.
Pays to be there on "new livestock day" :)

My Red Planet (avatar) I got for $16.00, because they did not know it was a RP and I was not sure until it colored up a little.

Craigslist. Guy found a job in Texas and was moving. He knew he couldn't keep the stuff alive during the move and he was looking for cash.

My tank wasn't quite ready for SPS at the time, but I couldn't pass up the deal. I did end up losing the birdsnest, one of the no names, and sadly the tricolor

hey if you were able to keep all the others, even with loosing those pieces you still came out WAY ahead! I have never had luck with birdsnest for some reason?
