Best fan option for cooling?

Won't you need a converter for the car fan to switch it from DC at AC?

How hot is your tank getting? What part of your tank do you plan on putting this?

 

Well, something like that one with a normal 2-prong outlet; like a desk fan.

I'm not sure how hot the tank will be getting, but I am slowly raising my AC to a more reaonable level. We have an analog thermostat that we are replacing with a digital one. Eveidently, having it set at 77 degrees was actually running it at 70-72 degrees, runnign up my electric bill. With the plan to raise them temperture, my tank tempertaure may rise too.

 

ive always been a fan of the regular clip on fans. iver tried a few of the aquarium specific fans (not the one you linked too though) and nothings really compared to them. just my 2 cents

 

I took a bunch of 120mm computer case fans and zip tied them together by the screw holes to span the width of the sump. Then I just wired them all together, added up the power draw and bought a simple AC/DC power supply to power them.

 

The WalMart $10 clip on fans are miracle workers.
