    Hey all,

I'm looking for input on ideas for a first/easiest to keep SPS. Any ideas or input would be great.

Mostly looking for something that would be good in a 30gallon or smaller reef only set up.

    thanks!

Honestly I would do a Anacropora or a Monti/plating coral.

I have an Anacropora like this branching guy here but MUCH greener... I have frags of it in my 8g Biocube that are doing well.

I have a birdsnest in my reef that shows growth. i have had great success with birdsnest. provided you have enough light and flow. Mines sits next to my power head and sits on the top of my rock right under my 250W MH

I would try montipora or a staghorn.

I wouldn't get millepora. while I have one and it seems to be quite hardy it is the slowest growing coral I have ever had in my life.

Wonder how they would do with T5 lighting?

Stags are a little harder to maintain then the easy guys I mentioned. Are you using the 2x54w t5 for your light or more?

They corals I mentioned will grow under power compacts. Birds nest are very senstive to Mg levels and need CLEAN water to get good polyp extension.

    Some stags are hardy though.

LOL I feel your pain on the millepora... I'd like something in my tanks to grow at a noticable rate at least! LOL

Anyone know if Monti can do ok with less than MH lighting? like T5's in a shallow tank maybe?

Monti will do fine without a doubt as long as Ca, Mg and Kh are at proper levels.
