Best Freshwater filter that WON'T filter my wallet!

    Someplace nice and cold.
    36 gallon corner tank with fancy goldfish and bottom feeders!! I am desperate for a good filter that won't fizzle out on me!!! If anyone can point me in the direction of one that won't cost me a whole lot, I'd be very happy!!

    Fluval canister filters are awesome. I'm also a big fan of any bio-wheel filter.

    +1 on Fluval,mine has been running for 4 years, no problem, very easy to clean.I have a model 305 on a 44gal. reef tank,should do a good job on your 36.

    Fluval are good, the external cannister filters are quality as are the internal ones
    Ehiem are also a quality brand that have a great record on long lasting units

    SInce it is a small tank you could go cheaper and get a Penguin 3 Stage. It is similiar to the type of filter's that come with most tank's, but alot more efficient and under a hundred. The other ones listed above are awesome but a bit higher in price. Good Luck with what ever you decide on.
