Best heater

    I just got the Finnex with the digital controller, they have them on Aquacave. Same type set up as the fluval. They have an automatic shut off too, so you don't have to worry about cooking your fish

    Looks like a very nice heater too but the shutoff doesnt activate tell 92 degrees. Well about the mid 70's my horse tank will be kept at. Better than no shutoff though. I like the digital readout on it. This one is in the running now.

    i would suggest the hydor theo heaters they look great and are fully submersible

    Heaters with an external controler tend to be more accurate IMO. I would stay with those types

    Id second the Finex with a good secondary temp control, especially for something as delicate as horses. Any heater externally controlled or not has the chance for a thermostat failure, a temp controller is fairly cheap insurance against an expensive and painful loss.

    Yup just check the Tank Crashes thread! heaters sticking on is more common than you think.

    And the verdict is in the finnex it is. Looks like the best option available. With the cut off control I dont think I will have a need for two heaters Ill just go with one. Thank you for all the help everyone.

    I say use a Whirlpool Gas BFG1F4040s3NOV. Best heater ever IMO.
