How old was your other skimmer?

If it's relatively new it might be worth just ordering the replacement part, heck it might even be under warranty.

If not I would say reefocto HOB would be a good choice.

like 8 months old I think. I think I should order the part but I have no filtration on my system right now so I dont think I can wait after the distaster I had with the movers crazking my tank lol.

Yeah I hear you there - sounds like a good idea to get the part this way you've got a great spare for when you have to do maintenance or for when you add your next tank !!!!

    ;)

if you have the $ IMO the Deltec MCE600 is the best HOB skimmer. Hands down, it destroyed all my other HOB skimmers when I used to run it. I had used an AquaC Remora standard & a Bermuda Rogue prior.

I used to have a 55g reef and there would always be some surface build-up and haze to the water. A few hours after putting the Deltec on, my surface was crystal clear and so was my water, I was pretty impressed.

But, it is very pricey, but fortunately, you do get what you pay for. It also has a media compartment built in that you can run PO4 removing media or carbon in.

Very true save some space just hang it outside the sump on my next tank :)

That just looks freaking amazing to bad nobody around here carries that brand or I would jump on it.

They are AMAZING! I have seen a few of these in person and they are near silent.

But the $500+ pricetag is enough to keep me away . . .
