I'm looking for a skimmer to go into my 10 AIO tank. the height of the tank is 10 inches and that poses a problem for me with finding a skimmer.
    Any help is greatly appreciated....

IS the 10g a standard 10g (most are 12" tall) ? The only one I know of that will fit that is the Hydor SlimSkim nano. It needs a water depth of 11".

It got a pretty good review form Mark Kalehan(sp?), of MrSaltwaterTank.TV

The slim skim nano will run about $100 depending where you buy it.

I've never found skimmers that small/on small tanks work very well...with such a small water volume I find water changes are more effective...just my .02 cents!

That's weird. It does say 10" high. But even their picture shows that the height is greater than the tank width...?

That is odd. Thanks for the correction.

Does anyone have any plans for a DIY HOB skimmer? or even an external that I can run a pump through from my tank to the skimmer then back?

A number of HOB fuges have a built in skimmer. Check amazon I believe they are around $119. I have a 10G with a biocube skimmer which works. As most reviews state I get a fairly wet mat. I agree that with a 10G WC def makes a lot of difference though. I used to do 10% every three days and while I did that the tank looked pristine. Good luck!
