Ya, my LFS can get the 8x80 fixture to me shipped for $1250 which is $10-$25 cheaper than anywhere I can find it online, so I will most likely go this route.

I would go reefgeek.com. However, if they are compatable, I would try to sub UVL bulbs for the included ATI.

I'm actually planning on buying the fixture without bulbs so I can plan out how I want them. And there soesn't seem to be all that much of a savings to buy it with them. Not to mention you can't really pick and choose. The LFS will be able to give me a bit of a discount as well since I plan on dropping a ton of cash with them.

Well, the top three bulbs are pretty much represented on the site. At least from my humble point of view. Really, the bulbs you buy (the brand) are just as important as the fixture itself. Personally, I would never go with anything other than UVL. I mean, Giesemann and ATI are good quality, but UVL just plain rocks. The quality is superb. I would compare UVL with coralife as I would a PM Bullet skimmer with Jebo.

pharmerjohn, why do you like the UVL t5's? Pun intended, but they don't hold a candle to the ATI or Geiseman's.

Take a look at any PAR test and you will see why, and all the UVL bulbs just don't look as pleasing to me as the two other brands, even if you discount PAR tests.
I tried the UVL Superactinic when they first c ame out for t5, and I was so stoked that we would get a t5 version of the VHO SA that so many like. I was bummed when I lit it up the first time, and no matter where I put that bulb in my retro, did I like it. The other bulb from UVL looked like pepto bismo.

not going to ask the same question twice, i'll just revive an old thread

anyone know of anywhere else to get ATI light fixtures besides:
    reefgeek and aquarium specialty

By the way im looking for the sunpower fixture not the more expensive powermodule fixture. However, can someone tell me the difference? It seems like they read the same on each website.

    Thanks

Edit: After some reading I did end up figuring out the difference.

Prices are the same wherever you look. I'm sure a google search might tun something up closer to you.
