best place to buy egg crate

hello im looking for the best place to get the cheapest egg crate to place my coral pieces on or make a top for a tank

 

im not sure if it's the cheapest, but i bought mine at Lowes

 

Most lowes and home depots carry it in the lighting section. Be prepared to get looked at like you have 3 heads when you ask where or what it is tho.

At my Lowes there are two lighting sections. One where all the pretty ceiling fans and lights are.. then in the back of the store there's another section with office type flourescent lights and drop down ceiling stuff. That's where the eggcrate is. Took me a while to find the stuff.

 

funny thing when i asked. We had originally asked the employee where the egg crate was, he looked like he didn't know what it was. Lol then my dad said it was going to be for a lid for a fish tank and his eyes got big and was like OH i know exactly where it is and showed us. lol i guess we got lucky for him thinking we weren't crazy. But when i got my raw shrimp at the grocery store, the guy thought i was crazy for only asking for 1 piece instead of 1 pound, lol then i had to explain to him what it was for.

 

My Kroger wouldn't sell me one piece because it wouldn't register on his scale. . hehe

 

haha i got mine at Ralphs, i was surpised it registered, it was like a whole .13 or something cheap like that
