    May be...DFS shipping charges based on how much spent, not weight...

    So combine order with a couple of their "really good price" for a couple buckets of salt mix, and shipping pays for self in hurry...

    Is what I always do when making any kind of order from them...(expect I have a 3 year salt supply sitting out in garage...:p)

    as far as shelf life, I am guessing if sealed most likely forever, those tubs are pretty well sealed.

    We just did a group buy on salt from them. I ordered 24 buckets or some 750 dollars worth of salt.

    I can give you some advice, don't order more than 10 buckets at a time, 10 cost us 19.99 in shipping!

    I was told by someone at F&S if you order more than 10 it sets off a flag on their computer and they have to have it drop shipped which costs considerably more (OUCH).
