Best Power head for the money!

If you want to keep the clean look. Go vortech's or tunze. Unless you want a curling iron in your tank. Giving you the toilet bowl effect. Lol

Can't you see my 'ugly' PH's? and I've currently got some crazy flow going on and try and keep it as minimum flow as I can, while still using the randomizing wave feature that comes with the WP's.
I spent $120- for the pair- total for 2 of them.

 

Here's the thing, I doubt the op is worried about spending money on a few vortech powerheads since they just purchased a new reefsavvy thank. (Not cheap at all)
If I had the money would I buy 8 mp40s for a tank? Sure. Why not.
I'll stick to my wp series pumps since they are in my price range and do a good job.
Not everyone is guns agree here. There is fan boys for every powerhead out there that will tell you why the pump is superior to the next.
Lucky for me I've tried most of them and figured out for my own tank and money what my best option is.
Don't think we will ever get everyone to agree what's the best for the money.

 

I am far from rich.My tank runs on a few dollars a week.For me if you are going to spend thousands of dollars on something.Why try to save a few dollars on the one piece of equipment that actually has the power to kill you??

SW and electricity is a scary thing and anyone who has felt that jolt(me unfortunately lol) has a healthy respect for it.Jebaos have a horrible track record to begin with and they haven't been around long enough for them to be called a no brainer imo..I have no interest in helping any one company.
Cheap products.No matter what country they where made in have always been around; its what help keep our prices low.
I am also a fan of DIY guys like Todd and Dbo trying to make it easier for more people to enjoy this wonderfull hobby..They spark inovation/inventions........
You also don't want to stake your reputation on something as risky as a sw ph.jm2c

Nothing beats EcoTech's pumps unless the tank is going in an area where noise will be a big issue. The are probably the loudest pumps on the market. If you're looking to save some money or keep the noise down, I would check out Aqua Medic's EcoDrift pumps. They are silent, have many of the features that EcoTech is known for, are much cheaper and are backed by a reputable company.

Thanks for the feed back I hear you budgets are a key factor love the Gyre idea however never buy the first generation given they are prone to issues. Thus far im leaning towards the Vortech MP40wES have not read any negative threads on them yet given they are pricey I would have to go with the sure money...

Are they fairly quiet?

 

Loud is a subjective term I know but mine isn't loud.I do have it on an acrylic tank and have never taken apart the wet side for what its worth.I run it at 75 percent on reef crest.
