Best Pump For Aqua C EV 240 Skimmer?!

TritonGarden...what did you eventually end up using for a pump?

I have have to add a valve between the Mag 18 and the skimmer to help dial it in i'm thinking!

 

I ended up selling it. They are supposed to be good skimmers. I either got a dud or just didn't know how to set it up properly. After upgrading to a mag 18 and getting a larger injector nossle from AquaC, I gave up.

you don't need to use a valve between the pump and skimmer. just control the water level with the output gate of the skimmer. you may need to raise the skimmer height, there is a height requirement for that skimmer.

I hope I can get this sucker dialed in right....its a monster skimmer and I really want to use it!!!

Yea...I have a stand for it so the water hight should be good in the sump, I will let you know how I am making out!

Well after 2 days of messing with the skimmer and the gate valve I am finally getting foam up and over the top into the collection cup.

Most if it was user error, I kinda misunderstood the directions where the actual water height and bubbles should have been in the foam tower.

I hooked it all up Friday evening and set it wrong then....ran it for 2 days with some tweaks here and there...nothing. All under the wrong assumption.

Then just this evening I made some major changes and viola....got it!

I had to close the gate valve quite a bit to get the bubbles up the foam tower and to set the water height correctly in the black box....once I did that it started foaming...I have many dirty cups to clean ahead of me!

Thank god I have the large auto waste collector too!!!

I'll post some pics of it tomorrow or tuesday!
