I am officially out of salt. I have been using Coralife and I am just curious as to what brands of salt everyone uses? I guess, I am really looking for opinions as to what salt is the best, so????

Just started using D-D H2Ocean and it is simply amazing. Expensive though, had good luck with Brightwell before.

IMO, as any salt you buy needs to be supplemented anyway, and supplements are super duper cheap from BRS, I see no reason to pay for expensive salts.

    I use Instant Ocean.

I've used Marine Environment, instant ocean, reef crystals and coralife. I just go with the cheapest since I have needed to supplement the salt always at one point or another.

I agree here, unless you only have a softy tank or very few hard corals, you will end up supplementing anyways. I haven't heard of or found a "bad" salt out there and most hobbyists I know just buy what ever is cheapest or on sale. I have found that the biggest thing between cheaper salts and more expensive salts is the consistency between each batch, but that also has to do with packaging and storage.

i used to use reef crystals and had to dose alot, now i use coralife and love it, i dont ever have to dose since the calcium and mag is higher...Coralife is alot better salt now than it was a few years ago when it got the bad rap with old owners...

I use Instant Ocean Reef Crystals and like it, but I have never tried another salt to compare it to.
