What is the best salt for a reef tank. What do you use and why do you use that brand?

I have been using Tropic Marin Pro Reef. More money but it mixes well and no problems with it

We've used instant ocean for 10 years. Used reef crystals for a short time, but wasn't worth the extra money for us.

    IO. (Instant Ocean).

It's cheap and readily available. Sure, you still have to dose CA and Mg... but you pretty much have to do that with any salt out there...

I like that it isn't too expensive. I just bought an eleventybillion pound tub of it @ petco for $50, I was pleased.

I use Pro Reef too. I have a Nilsen (Kalk) reactor on my tank, and the slightly lowered dKh of Pro Reef works very well with it. In talking to the Tropic Marin folk, they told me that Pro Reef was designed with CA or Nilsen reactors in mind
